If you source self-inking stamps for resale — as a distributor, wholesaler, importer or private-label brand — your manufacturer choice decides your margins, your complaint rate and how fast you can launch new models. We are a self-inking stamp factory in Dongguan, China, running injection molding, assembly and QC under one roof since 2004. This guide shares the checklist we would use ourselves when evaluating a supplier — including how to evaluate us.

The stamp supply chain is full of trading companies presenting themselves as factories. A trading layer is not always bad, but it adds cost and slows every technical conversation. Ask for three things: workshop photos showing injection machines and assembly benches, a list of ready moulds with model numbers, and a live video call from the production floor. A real manufacturer provides all three within a day. We publish our own factory background and welcome video calls from the workshop floor.
Moulds are the real assets of a stamp factory. A supplier with hundreds of ready moulds can ship most standard models from existing tooling — faster, cheaper and more consistent than one who outsources molding. Our mould library covers round diameters from 12 to 50 mm (the R-series), rectangular and square bodies, daters, pocket stamps and specialty items — over 300 ready moulds. Ask any supplier for their mould list before discussing prices: it tells you instantly what they can actually make.

Serious factories know their materials. Stamp bodies should be moulded from quality ABS — we use Taiwan CHIMEI ABS for strength and surface consistency. Impression dies should be engraved from proper laser rubber, not generic rubber sheet. Ink pads should be replaceable across the whole range. If a supplier answers material questions vaguely, expect batch-to-batch surprises.
Every factory claims quality. Few can describe their inspection steps. Ask: what do you check at raw material stage, after molding, after assembly, and before packing? Do you cycle-test the mechanism? Our own process is public — seven inspection stages from raw ABS to packed cartons — and we send pre-shipment photos of your actual order on request. If a supplier cannot describe their QC, they do not have one.
Even if your first order is standard models, your growth depends on customization: your logo, your shell colors, your packaging. Check whether the supplier handles logo printing, Pantone color matching and private-label packaging in-house. Our OEM program covers logo proofs within 24 hours, Pantone-matched shells on volume orders, and custom packaging with your barcodes — all confirmed with samples before mass production.
Send a detailed inquiry and time the response. A professional factory replies within one working day with specific answers — not a generic catalog dump. We commit to replies within 8–12 working hours, and our quotes itemize model, size, quantity breaks, customization and packaging so you can compare line by line.
Never skip sampling. A standard-model sample reveals mechanism smoothness, impression quality, shell finish and real packaging in one shipment. Standard samples should ship in days, not weeks — ours leave within 2 working days. For OEM projects, insist on an approved sample as the production standard; that is how repeat orders stay consistent.
Send us your target models, sizes and quantities through the inquiry form. We reply within 8–12 working hours with an itemized quote, ship standard samples in 2 working days, and run production in 3–5 working days for standard orders. New to the category? Start with our stamp buying guide, then talk to us.

For repeat B2B sourcing, a real factory wins on price stability, customization depth and problem-solving speed. A trader can be convenient for one-off mixed orders, but every customization request has to be relayed to a factory anyway — you pay a margin for the relay.
Ask for workshop photos and videos of injection molding and assembly, a mould list, and a video call from the production floor. Real factories answer these in hours; intermediaries stall or send stock photos.
For a real factory, 100 pcs per model is a healthy MOQ — it covers a molding and assembly run without forcing you into heavy stock. Be cautious of both extremes: no-MOQ offers usually mean a reseller, and very high MOQs may mean the supplier is a batch trader.
Critical. A standard-model sample tells you more than any catalog: mechanism smoothness, impression sharpness, shell finish and packaging. We ship standard samples within 2 working days — any serious factory should do the same.
